Where are you from? Why did you move to NYC? What’s your favorite thing about living in NYC?
I was in Vermont for the first 24 years of my life and then moved to NYC about two years ago. My favorite thing about living here is the ability to completely change your surroundings just by hopping on the train. I have no desire to drive a car so New York is really the perfect place for me to indulge my curiosity without having to do things like “learn to drive” or “make enough money to be able to travel regularly.”
How have you used urBin to reclaim your space?
I actually used urBin to help me with my move From Woodside to Bed Stuy. I didn’t have any furniture to deal with so I just had urBin stash away all of my non-essentials so I could handle my move in a couple cab rides and deal with the rest later.
If you could be a superhero, what would you want your powers to be? What would you call yourself?
If I were a Superhero I would definitely want the ability to change my height as it suits me, but only within the realm of normal height for a human. I enjoy being short a lot of the time, but every now and again it would be nice to actually be able to see when I’m at a music venue or to not be constantly getting stabbed in the eye by the umbrellas of reckless pedestrians. I suppose I would call myself “Conveniently Sized Girl.” I realize that It’s not a very ambitious Superhero fantasy, but I really don’t want anyone to expect me to use my powers to solve crimes or anything. That sounds exhausting.
If you had an extra room in your apartment, how would you use it?
A creative space for writing, drawing, singing, and generally making messes that no one else needs to be involved in.
What’s one thing most people don’t know about you?
What my natural hair color is. You didn’t say that I had to answer the question.
What’s your favorite thing about urBin?
The lovely people who do the deliveries and pickups. I’ve had two deliveries and two pickups and though it was the same people for a few of them they were always super friendly and offered to bring things up 3 flights of stairs for me without any trace of a grumble.
